The Farnham Area

You may wonder... why Farnham?

It has everything we wanted. We wanted a castle, it has one. We wanted a cute village with lots of eateries - tick. And we wanted a place nestled in the country - tick! We looked at so many different venues, but as soon as we drove into Farnham, we fell in love.

Why not make a weekend of it?

If you are planning to stay for the weekend, there is lots to see and do!

The high street and surrounding roads of Georgian buildings are full of cute little shops and yummy eateries, such as the Giggling Squid, Bill's and the Queen's Head. You will need a weekend to try them all out!

Farnham is not short of a pub or two either; The Spotted Cow, The Bat & Ball Freehouse and The wheatsheaf are all worth a visit. Or if the thought of another drink is too much after the wedding, head to Cafe Piccolo for a strong coffee and piece of cake! Farnham is full of narrow streets to explore - you will love it.

Walks

Close to the North Downs Way, there are many walking trails to discover. If you want to embrace nature and breathe the fresh air, then head to Bourne Woods. You will find a beautiful hilly woodland to stroll around. For any Harry Potter fans - Bourne Woods is where the chase scene in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part I was shot! Who knew?

Golf

Located a short drive out of Farnham is Farnham Golf Club where you may see Derek and Scott hacking their way around. Stewart will be in the woods somewhere locating his ball...

Days out to London or Brighton

Farnham is an hour train into London Waterloo which brings you straight into Central London and onto the London Southbank area. Waterloo is a short walk to the Tate Modern or jump on the tube to Oxford Street/ London Bridge/ Westminster.

Brighton is about an hour and 15-minute drive from Farnham and is a place Claire and I love. Claire grew up not too far away from Brighton and it's a place we regularly visit. Brighton has amazing restaurants, pubs and clubs and you can visit The Lanes for an amazing shopping experience. Also do not forget the grand pier, fish and chips, and ice cream by the sea.
